COVID 19 - Response and Management at LMC
Dear Friends and Patients,
By now, I'm sure you are getting bombarded with information from all different sources/businesses on COVID-19. We sure are. But we wanted to make you aware of how we are handling this situation at Lake Mills Chiropractic. We also wanted to provide some encouraging advice to you and your family in this tumultuous time.
According to the CDC and the Jefferson County Health Department, the general public in Wisconsin and the United States are at low risk of contracting COVID-19.
Please rest assured that we are taking all the necessary precautions to keep our clinic clean and safe for all our patients. We are cleaning adjusting tables, therapy, and exercise equipment between all patients. We are cleaning and wiping down all surfaces, doorknobs, faucets, pens, clipboards and any other surface people encounter. For the time being, magazines, books, crayons, and children’s toys have been removed from the office.
We are diffusing anti-microbial essential oils throughout the clinic to help purify the air.
All staff and doctors are being extra vigilant with hand washing.
We are all getting adjusted regularly, if not more to keep our bodies functioning optimally. We continue to do all the things we tell you to do to stay healthy.
What can you do to stay healthy? Here are a few tips:
1.) Get Adjusted, keep your appointments, and if you aren't currently receiving chiropractic care, you may want to start. There have been some small studies that show spinal manipulation may stimulate immune function.
2.) Put Good, Nutritious Food into Your Body. Cut out inflammatory foods such as sugar, fried foods, and processed foods. Eat a variety of proteins, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats.
3.) Immune Enhancing Supplements: Vitamins C & D, zinc, echinacea, elderberry, colloidal silver, garlic, to name a few. If you have any questions on supplements, we can help.
4.) Movement/ Exercise: Mild to moderate exercise boosts the immune system and is also a stress reliever!
5.) Rest. Rest also boosts the immune response and helps our bodies to heal. Be sure to get plenty of quality sleep at night and possibly a short nap during the day.
6.) Stress Management: In times of chaos and uncertainty, stress levels can be ramped up. Try to keep calm, limit social media, move your body, meditate (there are lots of apps you can download for meditation). Also, try to maintain a positive mental attitude and think thoughts of love and gratitude. Again, see your chiropractor. Adjustments may help ease the fight/flight stress response and put your body more at ease.
7.) Wash Your Hands Often - I don't think this is the first time you've heard this!
8.) MOST IMPORTANTLY: Please Follow the Recommendations of the CDC and Local Health Authorities Regarding COVID-19: Stay home when you are sick! Anyone with a fever should not return to work, school or daycare until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications (i.e., acetaminophen or ibuprofen).
Please don't hesitate to call, email or Facebook message us if you have any questions or concerns. We are here for you and are open our normal hours.
Yours in Health,
Drs. Chris Kroll and Scott Tellefson
