First Visit
Paperwork
We strive to keep our paperwork brief but relevant. The paperwork provides us with general information about you, your medical history and your concerns.
Consultation and Case History
Next you will view a short video that explains chiropractic. Then you will meet with Dr. Kroll to discuss your medical history as well as the current concerns that brought you to seek treatment. Dr. Kroll may ask you more specific questions to further identify your condition.
Chriopractic Examination
A number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.
MYOVISION™ Spinal Scan
After your exam, a computerized “scan” of your spine will be performed. It is absolutely pain free and assists Dr. Kroll in determining your specific diagnosis and optimal treatment plan. The Myovision instrument utilizes the most advanced, up-to-date, technology to measure your spinal flexibility, spinal muscle activity and nervous system function. More information on the Myovision equipment may be found at www.myovision.com.
X-Rays
Your specific condition may also require Dr. Kroll to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist him in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.
Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients occasionally will be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include a spinal adjustment, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.
Home Instructions
As part of your care in this office, you will be provided with instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. These may include instructions on ice or heat application, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. Nutritional advice may also be provided.
Your Next Visit
At the end of your initial visit you will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally, patients are seen the next day. Dr. Kroll will explain to you your specific diagnosis, exam findings, Myovision results, x-ray findings, recommendations for care, and treatment options. You are encouraged to ask any questions you have about your condition during this time.
